The Professional Golfers’ Association Tournament Procedures as defined in Part 6 of the PGA Regulations are applicable. Your attention is drawn in particular to the following:
Tournament Rules Part 6B: 3.1. Association tournaments shall be governed by the Rules of Golf as published by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, the PGA Conditions of Competition and Local Rules card as well as the additional Local Rules for each event, save that certain alterations and additions that may be deemed necessary and stipulated from time to time by the Executive Committee.
The Nottinghamshire PGA Honorary Secretary is the Tournament Director as defined in the PGA Tournament Regulations Part 6B: 2.1.
The Notts PGA Committee has the sole right to interpret the Conditions of Competition and reserves the right to rescind, alter or add to them from time to time. Such interpretation to be final.
The Notts PGA will not be liable for:
(1) Any loss or damage to any property of members and/or amateur players who will be solely responsible for the safety of all of their property together with making full and proper insurance arrangements in respect of the same and;
(2) All and any loss or damage (including consequential or indirect loss) howsoever, whensoever or wheresoever arising save in respect of death or personal injury due to the negligence of Notts PGA.
The Notts PGA Strokeplay Championship
1. The total field for the Nottinghamshire PGA Strokeplay Championship will consist of the following:
Category A

The Nottinghamshire PGA Matchplay Winner from the previous year.

Thirty-two Professionals / Assistants, who had not otherwise qualified in Category A, taken in order from the ‘Championship Qualification Table’ who are the nearest reasonable equivalent to entry at 4 pro-am tournaments.

Note: The 'Championship Qualification Table' is the Order of Merit for the previous year not including points awarded for the Notts PGA Strokeplay championship, Notts Championship or Notts PGA Matchplay Championship i.e. qualification based on performance in the Notts PGA Pro Am's.

Category C
|
-
PGA Professional / Assistant Members of the Nottinghamshire PGA who due to injury and / or ill health were not able to play and obtain sufficient points in the ‘Championship Qualification Table’.

PGA Professionals / Assistants ‘new to the County’ who became Members of the Nottinghamshire PGA in the six months ending 31st December of the previous year.

(a) Applications for consideration by the Committee must be received by 1st February.

(b) Only Four places will normally be available in this Category.
|
|
(c) Professionals / Assistants appointed after 1st February may apply for a late exemption.

Category D
|
-
Professionals / Assistants taken in order from the ‘Championship Qualification Table’, who had not otherwise qualified in Categories A to C above, will be invited to fill any vacancies.
|
2.PGA Professionals / Assistants who qualify in the above Categories will be invited to play in the Strokeplay Championship Invitations will be distributed by mid February each year.
3.PGA Professionals / Assistants who are invited must ensure their Subscription to the Nottinghamshire PGA for the current year is paid at the latest by 21 days prior to the Strokeplay Championship. Failure to do so may result in their invitation being withdrawn.
4.PGA Professionals / Assistants unable to accept their invitation are requested to advise the Honorary Secretary as early as possible and at the latest 21 days prior to the date of the Championship. Notifications received less than 7 days prior to the date of the Championship will result in the Entry Fee being forfeited and may result in disciplinary action in line with PGA Regulations Part 6B: 12.
5.An Entry Fee will be payable on acceptance of the Invitation by each Player, which will be collected at the Strokeplay Championship. Start Times will be determined by a 'draw' held at a Committee Meeting and published 21 days prior to the Tournament.
6.The Strokeplay Championship will be played over 36 Holes. The Final Result will be determined by the aggregate of both rounds.
In the event of a tie the Champion will be decided by sudden death play-off commencing at the 1st Hole immediately after the conclusion of play.
All other Ties - the prize moneys will be shared accordingly.
7.Prize Monies will be allocated for 1st to 9th places, 1st & 2nd 'Assistants' (Registered Trainees & up to 3 years qualified) not in the 1st to 9th places and the Best Morning and Afternoon Rounds.
The Trophy will be presented at the prize presentation at the conclusion of play.
The Notts Championship
8.Twenty PGA Professionals / Assistants will qualify for the Notts Championship consisting of:

9. All PGA Professionals / Assistants who qualify in the above Categories will be invited to play in The Notts Championship – invitations will be distributed by mid February each year. PGA Professionals / Assistants who are invited must ensure their Subscription to the Nottinghamshire PGA for the current year is paid at the latest by 21 days prior to the Strokeplay Championship. Failure to do so may result in their invitation being withdrawn.
10.The twenty qualifiers + 5 Reserves and Starting positions (reverse order of qualification) will be notified at the end of April to the Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs. Only in exceptional circumstances will a qualifier be permitted to withdraw. See PGA Regulations Part 6B: 12.6.
11. An Entry Fee will be payable by each qualifyer and will be collected at the Strokeplay Championship. If a qualifyer is not playing in the Strokeplay Championship he must ensure his Entry Fee is paid by the date of the Strokeplay Championship. Failure to do so may result in their invitation being withdrawn.
12. PGA Professionals / Assistants unable to accept their invitation are requested to advise the Tournament Director as early as possible and at the latest 7 days prior to the date of the Championship. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action in line with PGA Regulations Part 6B: 12.
13. Prize Monies will be made available for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th placed PGA Professionals.
The Notts PGA Matchplay Championship
14.Sixteen PGA Professionals / Assistants will qualify for the Matchplay Championship consisting of:

16. The Draw for the Match Play will be made in line with the Rules of Golf Appendix 1 Part C: 12 - i.e. the recommended 'General Numerical Draw' - from the order of qualification.
17. An Entry Fee will be payable by each qualifyer and will be collected at the Strokeplay Championship. If a qualifyer is not playing in the Strokeplay Championship he must ensure his Entry Fee is paid by the date of the Strokeplay Championship. Failure to do so may result in their invitation being withdrawn.
18. PGA Professionals / Assistants unable to accept their invitation are requested to advise the Tournament Director as early as possible and at the latest 7 days prior to the date of the Championship. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action in line with PGA Regulations Part 6B: 12.
19.Prize Monies are allocated for 1st to 16th places.
20.The Trophy will be presented at the End of season Pro-Am prize presentation.
Local Rules
21.The Tournament Conditions of Competition & Local Rules published by the PGA will be applicable at each Championship with the exception that the following are NOT applicable at the Notts Championship:

During a stipulated round, the balls a player plays must be the same brand and type as detailed by a single entry on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls. Note – The balls used must be named on the current list of conforming golf balls issued by the R & A but can be changed to a different brand and type as allowed by the Rule 15 of the Rules of Golf.

Embedded Ball - Through the green a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped, as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. Note – Relief may be obtained for a Ball embedded only in closely mown areas as specified in Rule 25.2 of the Rules of Golf.
22. The Local Rules in force at the Course being played will also be applicable provided they do not conflict with PGA Tournament Rules.
Start Times
23.Start Times will be published at the latest 10 days prior to the Championships.
24.Players are requested to collect their Scorecards 10 Minutes prior to their Start Time.
25.Time of Starting - Rule of Golf 6.3 and the PGA Tournament Conditions of Competition & Local Rules as published by the PGA are applicable. Note - The Start Time as published determines any penalties.
26.Each Professional will be required to mark the Score Card of another Player in the same ‘group’.
Stipulated Round
27.Strokeplay Championship - 36 Hole (18-hole morning and 18-hole afternoon) played in 2 or 3 balls.
28.Matchplay Championship – 18 Holes in each Round, played over 2 days.
29.Where weather conditions necessitate a change PGA Regulation Part 6B: 5 will be applied.
30. WPGA Members receive a yardage allowance – PGA Tournament Rules Part 6B: 14.
Order of Merit
31. Order of Merit points, on a basis determined by the County Committee, will be calculated for Professionals / Assistants following the Notts Strokeplay, Notts Championship and Notts Matchplay tournaments. In the case of tied scores the points are shared.

'Double' Order of Merit Points will be awarded to all PGA Professionals / Assistants in the Notts PGA Strokeplay Championship.

‘Normal level’ Order of Merit Points will be awarded to PGA Professionals / Assistants in the Notts Championship and Notts PGA Matchplay Championships.
32.The above points are added to the Order of Merit Points allocated after each Pro Am to determine each year the Notts PGA Order of Merit Winner.
